One-page destination guides listing the best of what to see and do, the most iconic sites, best photo spots, helpful tips, and what not to miss in the best locations across the world.
USA
Cape Cod, MA: The quintessential New England beach town famous for summer getaways, lighthouses, scenic beaches, fresh seafood, and home to the well-known Kennedy Compound. There are a ton of activities to do and coastlines to see. It’s a great getaway for families, couples, and solo travelers alike.
The Finger Lakes, NY: A region in upstate New York full of natural beauty, hiking and biking trails, craft breweries, rolling hills, and farmlands. The region is also home to America’s first wine trail and one of the longest in North America.
Lake Placid, NY: A famous town in the Adirondacks known for its adventurous sporting spirit. Enjoyable all year long with summer fishing, kayaking, hiking, winter skiing, sleigh rides, snowshoeing and so much more!
Miami, FL: Where I called home for 6 years. It is an iconic city filled with glitz and glam and people ready to party. Life is VERY different living vs being a resident (I love visiting more). This guide lists my favorite spots for good food and a fun environment. It was hard narrowing the list- but I did my best.
Savannah, GA: This charming southern coastal town is one of my favorite places to go, full-on foodie! The town is completely walkabout but I recommend getting outside the city for a day to enjoy some historical sights or one of my favorite east coast beaches, North Beach.
Tampa, FL: My home town, known for theme parks, professional sports teams, and beautiful Gulf Coast beaches
USA National Parks
Joshua Tree: Located in southern California near Palm Springs this Mojave desert park is home to the famous Joshua Trees and incredible dark night skies perfect for stargazing and night photography.
Europe
Barcelona: A city with so much life! I loved visiting all the Iconic sights in Barcelona, eating delicious tapas around every corner, and getting out of the city to experience some of the best parts of Catalonia. You can experience a lot on a weekend but I recommend 5 days to get it all in!
Edinburgh, Scotland: This might be my favorite European city, the old-world charm is second to none. I 100% recommend planning Edinburgh as a longer trip to Scotland as there is so much to explore in the Highlands. Scotland is my #1 Solo Road Trip destination to date. The people, the beauty the dramatic natural landscapes are some of the best I’ve seen.
Istanbul, Turkey: Despite the gawking men and verbal harassment I received, I would absolutely go back to Istanbul. There are so many cultural experiences to be had (such as the Turkish bath) and the food was terrific. With charming coffee shops, hipster neighborhoods, rooftop views, and dazzling historic landmarks it is a city you won’t get bored in. I do not recommend Istanbul for first-time solo travelers or ones who are a bit timid.
Middle East
Dubai, UAE: The world’s most cosmopolitan city known for its towering structures and majority ex-pat population. There is so much to do in this city you could stay busy for weeks on end. My favorite neighborhood for authentic old town feels is the Al Fahidi area. I highly recommend a day walking around the area and touring the souks (Arabic for markets).
